Alexandru Talica

Alexandru Talica hails from Iasi, Romania, but now lives in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, where he runs his own landscape and gardening company. He started playing poker at home with friends before moving to casinos, particularly Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club in Nottingham.

Talica is primarily a recreational live tournament player with nearly 60 cashes at Dusk Till Dawn. His biggest result to date came in February 2023 at The Festival Series in Nottingham, where he finished runner-up in the £120 Hendon Mob Championship, earning £5,785 after a heads-up deal with Reem Ahmed. He also cashed five times at that Festival event, narrowly missing the Player of the Festival title by just 6.75 points.

In 2023, Talica won two major prize packages through competitions. First, he won Franke's Flip Flops at The Festival Nottingham, securing a full package to the next Festival Series event in Malta. Second, he won the MainEventTravel 'Luck of the Irish' competition, earning a €2,200 Irish Open Main Event package for the 2023 Irish Open at the Royal Dublin Society. He also previously won a Hippodrome Mystery Bounty package via MainEventTravel in September 2022.

Talica describes himself as a purely recreational player who enjoys a mix of games. He favors a balanced style and, like many recreationals, enjoys playing aces but is willing to play any hand that can help him win.

Talica is married to Claudia and has a cousin named Vlad who also plays poker. He enjoys the social atmosphere of The Festival Series and has made many friends through the events.
