Bernardo Miguel Baptista Das Neves, commonly known as Bernardo Neves, was born and raised in Almeirim, Portugal. He began his poker career playing local tournaments and gradually moved to the international stage. His early results were modest, but he showed promise by consistently cashing in events across Europe. The first major breakthrough came in 2023 when he traveled to the Bahamas for the inaugural WSOP Paradise festival.

At the 2023 World Series of Poker Paradise in the Bahamas, Neves entered Event #14: $2,000 The Closer Turbo Bounty. Just two months after his EPT win, Neves demonstrated his consistency by finishing third in the $5,300 Main Event of the WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus. The tournament at the Merit Royal Diamond in Cyprus drew 1,372 entries, and Neves entered the final table second in chips. He eliminated Andrei Spataru in eighth place on the first hand and skillfully navigated through a tough field. Ultimately, he lost a critical hand when his A♦K♠ ran into Daniel Rezaei's 9♠9♣, missing the board. Neves finished third for $475,000, the second-largest cash of his career. This result brought his total live earnings to $1,862,278 solidifying his 12th place on Portugal's all-time money list.
