Bruno Politano

Bruno Politano, also known online as Bruno Foster, began his poker journey in the early 2010s. his live tournament career spans approximately three and a half years prior to his breakout performance at the World Series of Poker. By August 2014, he had accumulated $840,779 in total live cashes, with the bulk of that coming from his WSOP Main Event result. Politano hails from Ceará, Brazil, and he quickly established himself as one of the top Brazilian players on the global stage.

Politano's most notable achievement came in the summer of 2014 when he navigated a massive field in the WSOP $10,000 Main Event to reach the final table. The final table was delayed until November that year, making Politano one of the coveted "November Nine." He entered the final table as the ninth chip stack with 12,125,000 chips (approximately 30 big blinds at blinds of 200,000/400,000 with a 50,000 ante). His ninth-place finish guaranteed him $730,000, which at the time was his largest cash by a wide margin. The overall first prize was $10,000,000. The final table took place on November 10, 2014, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Although Politano did not win the title, his deep run put him on the map and opened doors for sponsorship.

On August 18, 2014, 888poker announced that it had signed Politano as its newest sponsored pro, giving him the title of "Ambassador." He joined a team that included JC Tran (a previous WSOP November Niner), Shane Warne, Xuan Liu, and Sofia Lövgren. 888poker teased the announcement on Twitter by asking followers to guess the new ambassador. Politano expressed his honor in joining the team, tweeting, "I’m honored to announce that I’m now part of the #team888 Brazil." As an ambassador, he represented 888poker at events and engaged with the poker community through social media and live streams.

After his WSOP success, Politano continued to play in live tournaments around the world. His total live earnings as of the most recent Hendon Mob data stand at $1,981,590, with a best live cash of $947,172. He remains ranked among the top Brazilian players, sitting 21st on the Brazil All Time Money List and 1,428th globally. In December 2016, Politano participated in a PokerNews Facebook Live session during the Northwest Poker Series in Brazil, where he discussed hands and answered questions from fans. While his early career was defined by the 2014 WSOP run, he has consistently posted results across various events, maintaining a presence in the international poker scene.
