Carl-Johan Geijer

Carl-Johan Geijer is a Swedish poker player from Stockholm. He first gained attention in 2007 when he won the Swedish Poker Championship (SM) in Texas Hold'em.

Geijer won the 2007 SM title on April 14 in Tallinn, defeating Michaela Johansson in heads-up play. The tournament had a prize pool of 900,000 SEK for the winner. At the final table, Geijer started with only 132,000 chips and quickly moved all-in from UTG with A♠Q♦, getting called by 9♠9♣ and hitting a queen on the river to double up. Later, he survived a bad beat when his A♠A♥ lost to A♠3♠ for a straight, but he believes the hand helped him because opponents thought he was tilting. He eventually won with pocket kings against pocket tens.

Shortly after his SM win, Geijer played the PAF Poker Challenge on Åland (April 20-22, 2007) as a newly crowned Swedish champion. In 2008, he entered the WSOP Main Event but was eliminated on the first day. He also competed in other Nordic events, including a 2008 tournament where he finished 62nd (eliminated with K♦Q♦ against 6♠6♥ on a board of 8♠8♥4♠4♦Q♥).

Geijer was 33 years old when he won the SM in 2007, placing his birth year around 1974. He is from Stockholm and spends summers in Åland. He represented Sweden in the Poker Finnkampen (Sweden vs. Finland matches).
