Carter Phillips

Carter Phillips began playing poker while studying at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, using the online screen name "bdybldngpkr". He honed his skills on online poker platforms and, one month before his 21st birthday (September 2009), won the EPT Barcelona Main Event, taking home €850,000 (approximately $1,216,023) and instantly rising to fame. The event had 428 entrants, and he defeated Marc Goodwin and others at the final table.

The 2009 EPT Barcelona Season 6 Main Event had a buy-in of €5,000+300 and a total prize pool of €3,382,000. Phillips engaged in a three-hour heads-up battle with Marc Goodwin, eventually winning the title with JTs against Goodwin's A8. This victory made him one of the youngest Main Event champions in EPT history.

First Gold Bracelet (2010)

At the 2010 WSOP, the 21-year-old Phillips defeated a field of 1,663 players in Event #16: $1,500 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em, earning $482,774 and his first WSOP gold bracelet. This was his first WSOP cash and his first tournament prize on U.S. soil. The final table was the second-youngest in WSOP history.

Second Gold Bracelet (2012)

In 2012 WSOP Event #31: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em, Phillips emerged from a massive field of 2,811 entrants, defeating 2009 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Cada heads-up to win $664,130 and his second gold bracelet. This achievement placed him among the few players with multiple WSOP bracelets.

Beyond his WSOP and EPT titles, Phillips also performed well in the WSOP Main Event: he finished 483rd in the 2010 Main Event ($27,519). He cashed in numerous other WSOP events, including a 15th-place finish in the 2012 $10,000 Six-Handed Championship ($44,110) and a 6th-place finish in the 2019 WSOP Circuit Harrah's Cherokee $400 Monster Stack ($18,000). He also placed 61st in the EPT Sanremo Main Event (€15,000). By 2012, his live tournament winnings had surpassed $2.6 million, and his career total stands at $2,702,933.

Phillips is known for his balanced style, excelling in post-flop decision-making and hand reading, with strong emotional control. He initially built his experience online as "bdybldngpkr" and displayed a solid tournament strategy live. In a 2013 PokerNews article, he was described as "continuing to make a living from poker" while maintaining a low-key professional demeanor.
