Chris Tsiprailidis

Chris Tsiprailidis (born Christos Tsiprailidis) was born on April 12 in Greece and later moved to the United States, settling in Syracuse, New York. Before turning to poker, he was a soccer player and a chef. He first began playing in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the early 1990s, making a name for himself by finishing as the runner-up in the 1993 $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event, losing to Phil Hellmuth Jr.

In 2000, Tsiprailidis won the $3,000 Limit Hold'em event at the 31st WSOP, earning $213,600 and a gold bracelet. As of 2009, his WSOP total cashes amounted to $501,492 across 27 in-the-money finishes. His lifetime WSOP earnings exceed $525,000, with eight final table appearances.

Beyond the WSOP, Tsiprailidis also achieved notable results on the World Poker Tour (WPT), with his highest cash coming from the 2004 WPT Borgata Poker Open, where he placed fourth in the No-Limit Hold'em Main Event for $181,200. Additionally, he won the 2006 WPT World Poker Finals ($116,753) and made one other WPT final table (fourth place in the 2004-2005 Borgata Open). His total WPT earnings are $241,595.

Tsiprailidis also performed well in other events: winner of the 1999 "Carnivale of Poker II" limit hold'em tournament ($90,600); fourth place in the 2009 L.A. Poker Classic H.O.R.S.E. Championship ($85,380); and multiple final table appearances in regional events.

Tsiprailidis is known for his aggressive and adaptable style, adjusting his strategy based on opponents. He demonstrates strong hand-reading skills in deep-stack phases and has accumulated extensive mathematical and probability knowledge from online poker. His nickname "Syracuse Chris" is widely used in the poker community.

As of the latest data, Tsiprailidis's live tournament total earnings amount to $2,649,621 (other sources show $2,646,718 or $2,596,363), with 174 cashes. According to WSOP.com statistics, he has 33 cashes, 11 final tables, and one gold bracelet. He ranks 888th on the all-time U.S. money list and 49th in New York State.
