Darren Elias

Darren Elias was born on November 18, 1986, in Boston, Massachusetts, and later settled in Medford, New Jersey. Before poker, he worked as an ocean lifeguard in Myrtle Beach. He attended the University of Redlands in California, initially studying mathematics and physics before switching to creative writing, earning his bachelor's degree in 2008.

Elias rose to prominence in the online poker boom of the late 2000s, playing under the username "darrenelias" on PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. In 2009, he became the #1 ranked online poker player in the world, a testament to his skill and volume. He won two World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) titles and an FTOPS gold jersey, amassing over $8 million in online earnings. His online success laid the groundwork for a legendary live career.

Elias is the most accomplished player in World Poker Tour history. He holds the record for most WPT titles (4), most final tables (13), and most cashes (50). His WPT live earnings exceed $4.8 million. His four wins are:
