Dean Joseph Hutchison

Dean Hutchison began his live tournament career in 2010, playing mainly in the United Kingdom and Ireland. His first major victory came on home soil when he won the 2014 UKIPT Edinburgh Main Event for $154,000, a result that propelled him onto the international stage. He nearly repeated the feat the following year with a fifth-place finish in the same event, demonstrating his consistency in large-field tournaments.

Hutchison's career-defining moment arrived at the 2023 World Series of Poker $10,000 Main Event. After entering the final table as a short stack, he navigated a tough field to finish in sixth place, earning $1,850,000 – by far his largest live cash. Prior to this deep run, he had only 11 WSOP cashes to his name, including a ninth-place finish in a $1,500 Freezeout earlier that summer for $35,773.
