Ezequiel Waigel

Ezequiel Waigel emerged as one of Argentina's premier poker players primarily through online play. He quickly transitioned to live tournaments and by 2016 had already recorded six-figure cashes. His breakthrough came in 2021 when he amassed over $780,000 in live tournament winnings, setting a national record with 13 cashes in Las Vegas alone. That year, he won the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em event at the Venetian Deepstack Extravaganza for $417,004 and finished second in the Wynn Fall Classic Mystery Bounty for $263,627. These performances vaulted him into the top 10 of Argentine all-time money lists.

Waigel has consistently performed on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2022, he placed seventh in WSOP Event #46: $5,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em for $90,714. At the 2023 EPT Barcelona, he reached the final table of the €5,300 Main Event, finishing sixth for €302,500. He also cashed in the 2023 PokerStars Players Championship for $61,400. He has cashed in online bracelet events, such as the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Main Event (650th, $11,834) and the 2023 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Main Event ($2,788). His aggressive style and deep-stack proficiency have made him a threat in both high-stakes and mystery bounty tournaments. Waigel's 2022 summer in Las Vegas was highlighted by multiple deep runs. He placed 21st in WSOP Event #27: $1,500 Shootout ($5,835), seventh in Event #46 as noted, and third in the MSPT Venetian Winter $1,100 Main Event ($58,016). Over the year, he logged 22 WSOP cashes in Las Vegas, demonstrating consistent form. In total, he has recorded 58 cashes in Las Vegas, with 22 coming at the World Series of Poker.
