Gioi Duc Luong

Gioi Duc Luong was born on March 29, 1968, in Los Angeles, California, after her family immigrated from Vietnam when she was six years old. Growing up in San Gabriel, California, she later moved to Las Vegas at age 21, where she was introduced to high-stakes poker by professional player Huck Seed. Luong developed a strong foundation in limit hold'em, which became her signature format.

Luong's breakout year came in 2003. In the L.A. Poker Classic limit Texas hold'em event, she finished in third place, earning a significant cash prize. Six months later, she achieved another third-place finish in the 2003 World Series of Poker limit hold'em shootout, collecting $30,000. She also made a WSOP final table in 2003 and has two WSOP money finishes in total. Her career live tournament earnings stand at $94,604, with her best cash being $30,000. In 2007, she appeared on the NBC television program Poker After Dark, showcasing her skills on a national stage.

Luong is known for her disciplined approach to limit hold'em, capitalizing on position and reading opponents.
