Hevad Khan

Hevad Khan was born on January 25, 1985, and showed a passion for competitive gaming at an early age. He started playing StarCraft: Brood War at 13 and reached a professional level, sharing an eSports background with fellow Team PokerStars member Bertrand Grospellier. He was also active in the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 community. After entering college, Khan dropped out of the University at Albany, SUNY, to focus on professional poker.

Khan's poker career features several highlights, most notably his sixth-place finish in the 2007 WSOP Main Event, earning $956,243. In 2008, he won the $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship at the Caesars Palace Classic, taking the top prize of $1,000,000 — his career-high cash. That same year, he won the $1,850 No-Limit Hold'em event at the Foxwoods Poker Classic for $108,187, defeating 2006 WSOP Main Event third-place finisher Michael Binger heads-up. In March 2008, he won the PokerStars Sunday Warm-up ($215 buy-in), besting 2,504 players for $97,856. In 2009, he won a No-Limit Hold'em event at the EPT Caribbean Adventure for $200,000.

As of 2008, his live tournament earnings exceeded $2.5 million, with WSOP cashes totaling $1,046,701 across seven events.

Khan was known for his ability to multi-table online. He once had a friend film a video showing him playing 26 SNGs (Sit & Gos) simultaneously on a single monitor, as proof that he was not a poker bot. This became a famous anecdote in the poker community.

Khan was known for his aggressive play and talkative demeanor. During the 2007 WSOP Main Event, his loud celebrations after winning pots sparked controversy. As a result, the WSOP introduced a new rule in 2008 prohibiting noisy celebrations at the table, which was jokingly called the "Hevad Khan Rule." His screen name "RaiNKhAN" is derived from the Mortal Kombat character Rain, combined with his surname.
