Jose Rivas

Jose Rivas is a professional poker player from Venezuela, currently ranked 14,329th in the world with career tournament earnings of approximately $235,908. He has made a name for himself on the international poker scene, particularly at the World Series of Poker, and is considered one of Venezuela's top poker representatives.

Rivas's most notable achievement came at the 2019 World Series of Poker Europe in Rozvadov. In Event #3: €1,350 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold'em, he battled through a field of 766 entries to reach the final table. On October 20, 2019, with blinds at 300,000/600,000 and a 600,000 ante, Rivas was eliminated in third place when his A♠J♣ failed to improve against Vangelis Kaimakamis's 6♦6♥. The board ran out 2♣K♠5♦9♠Q♥, awarding Rivas €72,474 and a €10,350 WSOPE Main Event ticket.

Earlier in the same tournament on Day 2, Rivas demonstrated aggressive play by four-betting to 865,000 from the small blind against Didier Rabl and Mykhailo Gutyi, taking down the pot without showdown.

In November 2019, Rivas participated in the Golden Poker Million €800 Main Event (€1,000,000 GTD). On Day 1a, he snap-called a four-bet jam from Miguel Faria Lopes, holding K♠K♦ against Lopes's A♠Q♥. The board blanked for Lopes, giving Rivas a big pot.
