Kannapong Thanarattrakul, nicknamed "Tent," began his poker journey in the online realm before transitioning to live tournaments around 2018. Hailing from Bangkok, Thailand, he initially recorded modest cashes in Asian events like the PokerStars Red Dragon series in Manila and Jeju. The COVID-19 pandemic forced a hiatus in 2021, but he used that time to refine his strategy, emerging as a formidable force when live poker resumed.

Thanarattrakul exploded onto the global stage in 2022. In May, he finished fourth in a €30,000 buy-in Triton Poker Series Madrid event for $277,050.
