Karel Mokry

Karel Mokry, a native of Prostějov in the Czech Republic, began his recorded poker journey in 2016 with a fifth-place finish in the CAPT Master Main Event in Baden, Austria, earning $4,300. He quickly established himself as a regular on the European tournament circuit, frequently playing in the King's Casino in Rozvadov, which became his home casino.

Mokry's biggest career cash came in February 2020 when he finished fourth in the Main Event of The Big Wrap PLO (Pot-Limit Omaha) at King's Casino. The tournament had a €2,350 buy-in and a €1,000,000 guarantee; Mokry earned €73,750 (approximately $80,000) for his deep run, which included eliminating a player on the final table before ultimately falling to Tomasz Kozub's aces.

In November 2021, Mokry made the final table of WSOP Event #80: $3,000 6-Handed PLO, finishing sixth for $39,688. He was eliminated by Robert Emmerson, who flopped a flush on the turn. At the 2023 World Series of Poker, he placed 91st in the $10,000 PLO Championship for $17,596. He also recorded a tournament victory in a $3,000 PLO event during the 2023 PokerGO Tour in Las Vegas, earning just under $100,000.

Mokry is widely recognized as a specialist in Omaha, particularly Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO). While Texas Hold'em dominates mainstream poker, Mokry focuses on the four-card variant, which he considers more volatile and strategic. He has consistently cashed in PLO events across Europe and the United States, including the European Poker Tour in Monte Carlo (second place in a PLO side event in 2022) and the Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas.

In 2024, Mokry finished ninth in a $3,000 PLO Progressive Bounty at the Wynn Summer Classic. In early 2025, he placed seventh in the PLO Mystery Opener at the Kings Millions festival in Rozvadov, winning nearly €15,000. As of 2025, his live tournament earnings exceed $500,000, placing him 35th in the Czech All-Time Money List.

Mokry is known for a patient, technically sound style in Omaha, a game that requires precise hand-reading and bankroll management. He is not a high-profile celebrity but is respected within the tight-knit Czech poker community. Little is known about his personal life; he prefers to let his results speak for themselves.
