Nipun Java

Nipun Java was born in Kolkata, India, and later moved to Los Angeles, USA. Before becoming a professional poker player, he worked as a software engineer. In 2009, Java began making a name for himself in low-stakes live tournaments in Los Angeles, gradually gaining experience and moving up to higher buy-in events.

Java has achieved significant success at the World Series of Poker (WSOP), winning three bracelets:

• 2017 WSOP: Won the $1,000 buy-in Tag Team event for $75,318; later in the same series, he won the online $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship for $237,688.
• 2023 WSOP: Won the online $777 buy-in Lucky 7's event for $195,151.

Additionally, he has two WSOP Circuit gold rings:

• 2014: Won a $1,675 event at the Bicycle Casino for $226,785.
• January 2022: Won an online $55 buy-in event for $54,993.

WSOP Final Tables and High Payouts

• 2015 WSOP: Finished runner-up in the $3,000 buy-in Pot-Limit Omaha Six Handed event for $270,509, his largest live cash at the time.

• WPT Gardens Poker Festival 2019: 11th place for $28,445.
• WPT ARIA 2017: 7th place for $35,000.
• WPT Prime Championship 2025: 273rd place for $4,180.

In other series, he finished 4th in the 2022 MSPT Venetian Winter $1,100 Main Event for $41,573.

As of 2026, Nipun Java's live tournament earnings exceed $3.1 million (Hendon Mob reports $3,116,851; PokerNews reports $3,149,736), placing him among the top Indian players. He has 83 WSOP cashes and 73 WSOP Circuit cashes.

Java now resides in Los Angeles and is active in both online and live poker communities. He shares poker knowledge through social media and is regarded as a pioneer in the development of Indian poker.
