Peter Jetten

Peter Jetten was born on March 26, 1985, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He attended the University of Western Ontario, where he won his first online poker tournament. After two years, he dropped out to pursue poker professionally. Jetten currently resides in Toronto but spends most of the year traveling for tournaments.

Jetten began playing poker in 2004, turning two freeroll cashes totaling $75 into a $100,000 bankroll over the next year. His first live tournament was in 2005 near Toronto. In 2006, he made his first WSOP cash, finishing 8th in the $2,500 Short Handed No-Limit Hold'em event. His breakthrough came in 2008 when he finished second to Marty Smyth in the $10,000 World Championship Pot Limit Omaha at the WSOP, earning over $500,000. Later that year, he placed fourth in the High Roller event at the European Poker Championships in London for $346,078.

In 2009, Jetten cashed three times at the WSOP. In 2010, he started with a fifth-place finish in the Aussie Millions Main Event ($300,000) and later reached the final table of the $10,000 Pot Limit Hold'em event at the WSOP before finishing 54th in the Main Event. He continued to show consistency in the 2010s, with cashes at WPT Fallsview, WSOP events, and the 2017 WSOP Main Event (773rd). In 2021, he cashed in the WSOP Main Event again (623rd) and finished 37th in the WPT Montreal Online Main Event.

Jetten's biggest scores came in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series. In 2018, he earned over $2.4 million combined in three Triton Montenegro events, including a third-place finish in the HK$1,000,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event ($1,040,260) and a fourth-place in a Short Deck Ante Only event ($819,000). In 2019, he had three more cashes totaling nearly $3.5 million: fourth in a HK$2,000,000 No-Limit Hold'em event ($1,350,700), third in another HK$1,000,000 event ($1,248,000), and second in a Short Deck event ($915,200). His largest single cash is $1,350,700.

Jetten is known online as "Apathy," a high-stakes regular in tournaments and cash games. In January 2011, he signed with Full Tilt Poker as a sponsored pro. He later became a member of Team partypoker, appearing in their live streams and promotional content. His online earnings supplement his live results, with cashes in major online events like the 2021 partypoker MILLIONS Online (22nd, $35,084) and the 2020 WSOP Online Main Event (310th, $18,098).

Jetten employs an aggressive, high-pressure style, especially effective post-flop. He excels at reading opponents and creating bluffing opportunities, adapting his strategy based on stack depths and positions. Known for his calm demeanor, he has been nicknamed "Mr. Robot" by fans. He is also active on social media, often sharing witty and self-deprecating humor. His discipline in bankroll management and emotional control are frequently cited as key to his long-term success.

Beyond poker, Jetten has exhibited versatility by winning the 2013 PCA Open Face Chinese Poker event. He holds several WSOP final tables (four known) and over 65 live cashes according to The Hendon Mob. As of early 2025, he ranks 11th on the Canada All Time Money List and 175th globally. He continues to play both live and online, maintaining a presence in high-stakes games.
