Philip Sternheimer

Philip Sternheimer was born in London, England, and resides there. Before focusing on poker, he worked in finance, which limited his ability to play in major live events initially. His background in finance helped him develop a disciplined approach to bankroll management and game selection, traits that would later define his poker career.

Sternheimer first cashed at the World Series of Poker in 2012, finishing 252nd in the $10,000 Main Event for $38,453. Later that year, he won €115,000 by taking down a €25,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller on the Partouche Poker Tour. In 2014, he earned €97,600 for a fourth-place finish in a €10,300 NLHE High Roller at EPT San Remo.

His first major live victory came in June 2018 when he won a $25,000 buy-in Eight Game tournament at the Aria Las Vegas for $275,000. This victory marked his emergence as a force in mixed-game and high-roller events.

Sternheimer began frequenting high-stakes tournaments with increasing success. In June 2022, he finished fifth in the $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. event at the WSOP for $124,935. He entered the $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship and emerged victorious, winning $763,087 and his first WSOP bracelet. The 2025 WSOP Paradise series further cemented his reputation. He finished fifth in the $100,000 Triton PLO Main Event for $760,000, 14th in the $250,000 Triton Invitational for $515,000, and third in the $10,000 8-Game Mix for $128,400.

In March 2026, Sternheimer finished runner-up in the Triton Jeju $100,000 NLHE Main Event, earning $2,535,000 – his largest cash to date. Later in the year, he continued to shine in mixed games at the PGT Mixed Games series, placing second in the $10,600 T.O.R.S.E. for $149,400 and third in the $26,000 Ten Game Championship for $216,000. At the 2026 WSOP, he added cashes in the $10,000 Razz Championship (7th, $46,385) and the $25,000 High Roller NLHE (19th, $64,442), among others.

As of 2026, Sternheimer has over 60 recorded cashes, including one WSOP bracelet, 12 WSOP final tables, and total live earnings exceeding $9.2 million according to the Global Poker Index. He is ranked among the top 200 players in the world.

Sternheimer is known for his versatility across a wide range of poker variants, particularly Omaha hi-lo, mixed games, and no-limit hold'em.
