Pieter de Korver

Pieter de Korver is a Dutch professional poker player who began with online poker and later became a fixture of the European live tournament circuit. He is ranked around 640th in the world, with career live earnings exceeding $4 million, and appears on the Netherlands all-time money list. His recorded Dutch circuit results alone total roughly €363,933, spanning more than a decade of cashes between 2010 and 2025.

De Korver's earliest recorded cashes include a €500 no-limit hold'em freeze-out in 2010 and a sixth-place finish in the 2011 Belgian Poker Series Namur €300 bounty for €1,282. In 2012 he nearly won the Master Classics of Poker €5,000 Main Event in Amsterdam, taking second place for €171,720, and also finished sixth in the €1,500 NLHE freeze-out at the same festival for €20,550. That year he added cashes in Breda (€300 NLHE, 9th, €998), Scheveningen (€400 NLHE, 8th, €2,048), and the Nijmegen Pokervierdaagse (€400 bounty, 11th, €466).

In 2013 he placed 12th in the €1,500 Dutch Open Main Event for €2,587 and 12th in the €400 Venlo Series of Poker freeze-out for €767. In 2014 he won the €700 NLHE Main Deep at the Venlo Poker Series for €26,390, and cashed three times at the Utrecht Poker Series in January: 35th in the €770 Main Event (€1,394), 9th in the €550 Single Re-entry (€2,002), and 15th in the €440 Bounty (€768).

De Korver's 2015 season included a victory in the €500 Deepstack NLHE in Venlo (€12,197), third place in the €1,000 Deep Stack Main Event in Venlo (€12,761), and third place in the €1,000 Main Event in Venlo (€9,958). At the Master Classics of Poker he was 12th in the €4,000 Main Event for €14,981 and 11th in the €1,500 NLHE Re-entry for €6,344. He added fifth-place finishes in the WPTN Valkenburg €1,500 High Roller (€8,477) and the €1,500 WPT Bigstack in Amsterdam (€16,689), seventh in the Enschede Poker Series €500 Main Event (€4,051), 11th in the Breda Poker Series €500 Deepstack Re-entry (€1,285), and 12th in a Rotterdam Poker Series €400 Superbounty (€429).

In 2016 he cashed in the Master Classics of Poker €750 NLH Single Re-entry (22nd, €2,248), the WPT500 Amsterdam €500 event (21st, €1,816), the Leeuwarden Poker Series Main Event (11th, €1,334), the Breda Poker Series €300 NLHE (11th, €853), and the Enschede Poker Series €500 Main Event (14th, €1,170). In 2017 he placed ninth in Venlo's €1,000 Main Event for €4,199, 29th in the Rotterdam Poker Series €700 Main Event for €2,230, and 41st in the €330 Super Freeze-out at the Dutch Open Poker Series for €581.

At the 2010 European Poker Tour stop in Vilamoura, de Korver finished runner-up to Daniel Negreanu in a €1,100 no-limit hold'em side event, earning €4,444 (about $5,648) in a 17-entry event with a €12,697 total prize pool. His broader tournament record includes multiple World Series of Poker and EPT final tables, a top-10 finish in the WSOP Main Event, and several EPT wins, which together form the foundation of his $4 million-plus career bankroll. He has also been successful online, winning numerous online tournament titles.

De Korver remained active through the late 2010s and 2020s. He finished 53rd in the 2018 Utrecht Poker Series €780 Main Event for €1,371, and 253rd in the 2020 Dutch Classics €195 Main Event for €394. In 2022 he took sixth in the €340 NLH Single Re-entry at the Leeuwarden Poker Series for €1,529. At the Master Classics of Poker in November 2024 he placed 26th in the €330 Hyper Turbo Re-entry for €592. In 2025 he cashed in the €250 Dutch Open Cup (41st, €1,022), the Utrecht Poker Series €785 Main Event (54th, €2,040), the €565 Deep Stack Re-Entry in Utrecht (17th, €1,402), the Leeuwarden Poker Series €565 Main Event (13th, €1,839), and the €300 Main Event 250K GTD at Rounders Rotterdam (114th, €563).

De Korver is recognized for an aggressive, pressure-heavy game. His online background gave him a strong command of hand reading, positional play, and precise post-flop aggression, including well-timed bluffs. He is especially dangerous in deep-stacked tournaments, where large effective stacks allow him to force tough decisions on opponents.
