Raul Dotor-Hernandez

Raul Dotor-Hernandez began playing poker recreationally, mixing casual live tournaments with online cash games on Boss Media at NL100 and NL200. He worked as a driver for the Madrid city council and had only been playing regularly for about four months before his breakout win.

In April 2009, Dotor entered the Campeonato de España de Poker (CEP) Madrid at Casino Gran Madrid Torrelodones. The tournament drew 250 entrants, and despite finishing Day 1 with just 8,000 chips against an average of 55,000, he survived. On Day 2, he tripled up early and eventually reached the final table. He outlasted a field including the reigning Spanish champion Javier Martínez 'elflacokanu', Badajoz stage winner Chema Felices, and circuit regulars Germán Arcos and Nacho Guerra. A four-way deal secured him the win and a prize of approximately €45,000.

Dotor was 33 years old at the time of his win. His sponsorship by Paradise Poker was complicated by a clothing delivery mishap, so he could not wear their logo during the event. After his victory, he expressed plans to continue balancing poker with his job, though his subsequent tournament results are not widely recorded.
