Early Career and Online Success
Sajal Gupta (also spelled Gopta) began his poker journey approximately three years before 2018, during his college years. He studied at IIT Delhi and initially played online poker, quickly making a name for himself on Indian platforms. He currently resides in Bangalore.
Major Online Titles
Gupta has been a regular winner on Adda52, one of India's leading poker sites. In September 2018, he won the Adda52 Millions for the second time, an INR 20 Lakh GTD tournament with a buy-in of INR 11,000. He overcame a tough final table that included pros like Akshay Nasa, Devang Yadav, Shashank Jain, and Sahil Mahboobani. His first Adda52 Millions win came in May 2018. He also won titles like "The Roar" and "The Whale" on Adda52.

Gupta has live cashes recorded at the World Poker Tour (WPT) and Asian Poker Tour (APT). According to WSOP.com data, he has 2 WSOP Circuit cashes and total earnings of $4,687.
In October 2022, he won Event #10: High Rollers Single Day at the APT Summer Festival Hanoi – VSOP, earning VN₫ 166.38 Million (approximately ₹11.44 Lakhs).
At the 2023 Asian Poker Festival (APF) in Hanoi, Gupta won Event #14: Short Deck (3 Bullets), topping a field of 58 participants. He earned VN₫ 166.38 Million (₹5.72 Lakhs) after defeating Event #4 champion Jerald Sam heads-up. This was his second major live title.
He also cashed at the WPT Vietnam Main Event in October 2018, finishing 45th out of 679 entries for VN₫ 56,250,000, and later that same series placed 45th in another event for VN₫ 52,690,000.
Match Poker and National Team
In 2021, Gupta was selected to represent India in the Nations Cup Finals in North Macedonia (Match Poker). His player bio for that event noted he had been playing poker for over 5 years, had experience in MTTs, Hold'em, and PLO cash games, and was eager to debut for the national team. This highlights his adaptability to new formats.
