Early Career
Tan Tai Zheng's poker career began in 2010. In November 2010, he made his first cash in the APT Hong Kong Main Event, finishing 14th for a prize of HK$70,600. In November 2011, he improved to 8th place in the APPT Macau Main Event, earning HK$373,000. These early results helped him gain tournament experience and confidence.
2012 APT Cebu Main Event Victory
From February 4 to 7, 2012, at the APT Asian Series Cebu Main Event held at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu, Philippines, Tan Tai Zheng emerged victorious from a field of 647 entries, winning the title and a prize of ₱3,623,000 (approximately $84,245). The tournament had a buy-in of $1,170 and a total prize pool of $263,255. This victory earned him 35 PTPR points and was his first major career title. At the final table, he defeated many tough opponents including Samad Razavi.
Subsequent Tournament Performances
In September 2014, he finished 19th in the APT Manila Main Event for ₱131,000. In April 2015, he placed 11th in the APPT Seoul Main Event for ₩10,730,000. These results show that he remained competitive on the Asian poker stage. Although he did not win another title, multiple cashes demonstrate his consistent skill level.
