Thomas Lamatsch

Thomas Lamatsch began his career in the gambling industry in 1993 as a poker dealer at CCC Vienna. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a floorman and eventually the manager of the casino. His passion for the game and dedication to the industry laid the foundation for his future roles.

In 2007, Lamatsch founded European Poker Consulting, offering services in poker and gaming consulting. He soon became a sought-after tournament director, running events such as European Poker Tour (EPT) stops, World Poker Tour (WPT) events, and many others across Europe. He also served as a tournament director for PokerStars from 2008 to 2017, handling live operations across the continent. In 2019, he was the tournament director for the PokerNews Cup at Finix Casino in Bulgaria.

Lamatsch worked as a Senior Consultant for Rebuy Stars from 2018 to 2021, focusing on networking, marketing, and event management. He also had a brief stint with PokerStars as a Senior Consultant for Live Operations in 2017. Earlier, he served as a Marketing Consultant for Bwin from 2007 to 2009.

Since October 2021, Lamatsch has been working as an Expert for Tournament and Key Account Events at Casinos Austria AG. In this role, he brings his decades of experience to support the company's event operations and key account management.

With over 31 years in the industry, Thomas Lamatsch is recognized as a pioneer and trusted figure in poker and gaming. His work has spanned consulting, tournament direction, and TV productions, including involvement in German-speaking poker shows. He remains active in the community, sharing his expertise through his company and his current role at Casinos Austria.
