Tiago Souza Aguiar

Tiago Souza Aguiar started playing poker in home games and later joined the online training site Reg Life, dedicating four years to studying the game. To participate in live Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP) events, he obtained legal emancipation at age 17. His first BSOP results came in 2025.

In July 2025, Tiago won his first BSOP title in the NLH 8-Max Turbo R$4K event during the BSOP Winter Millions, earning R$116,000 (approx. $20,800). Two months later, in October, he won the NLH Super 500 at BSOP Iguazú for R$17,000 ($3,000).

His third title came at the BSOP Summer in Costa do Sauípe on January 23, 2026. He topped a field of 28 entries in the R$6K 1-Day Deepstack, defeating Mateus Pimenta heads-up and taking home R$50,000 ($9,400). After the win, he told reporters: "I had a very good spot when 9-handed where I almost tripled up. Until 3-handed it was pretty quiet, but the 3-handed lasted a long time and the players were very competent."

Beyond his titles, Tiago has made deep runs in higher buy-in events. In November 2025, he finished 9th in the R$10K High Roller at the BSOP Millions, cashing for R$32,000 ($6,000). This result pushed his total live earnings past $43,000 and contributed to a total of seven BSOP cashes.

Although no formal analysis of his playing style exists, Tiago's comments reveal a thoughtful approach. He values picking good spots and recognizes the strength of his opponents. He has named Brazilian poker star Yuri Martins as his greatest inspiration, saying: "He's a monster of the game." Tiago aims to go as far as possible in poker, though he avoids making long-term predictions.

At just 17 years old, Tiago Souza Aguiar has already established himself as one of the most promising young talents in Brazilian poker. His three BSOP titles in under a year mark him as a rising star in the South American poker scene.
