Tobias Peters

Tobias Peters was born in the Dutch town of Heiloo and now makes his home in Alkmaar. He has become one of the Netherlands' most recognizable live-tournament regulars, with a career that spans hundreds of events across Europe and beyond. Peters is particularly associated with six-max no-limit hold'em, where his aggressive yet adaptive style has produced his two biggest titles.

Peters first claimed WSOP gold at the 2023 World Series of Poker Europe. In Event #7: €1,650 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max, he outlasted a tough field to win €143,100 and his first WSOP bracelet. The victory established him as a force in short-handed tournaments.

He doubled that achievement at the 2025 WSOP Europe, taking down Event #9: €3,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max. Peters defeated 309 entrants and banked €184,850, the largest single prize of his career, before beating Finland's Elias Vaaraniemi heads-up. According to his own post-tournament comments, the win carried extra meaning because 2025 had been shaping up as his "first losing year"; he was desperate to turn it around and found a way to do so on the biggest stage in Europe.

Before those bracelets, Peters had already reached WSOP Europe final tables. At the 2019 WSOP Europe, he finished fourth in Event #11: €2,200 Pot-Limit Omaha for €38,581. Two years later, at the 2021 WSOP Europe, he placed sixth in Event #2: €550 Pot-Limit Omaha, collecting €9,615. In the WSOP Europe Main Event itself, he cashed twice: 69th in 2019 for €15,748 and 98th in 2021 for €16,500.

Away from the WSOP, Peters has a long list of deep runs on the European Poker Tour and related tours. At EPT Barcelona in 2022, he finished second in the €1,650 Mystery Bounty event for €83,498. Earlier, at EPT Barcelona 2019, he cashed in the €10,300 EPT High Roller for €19,380 in 67th place.

At EPT Prague, he also made his presence felt in high-roller company. In 2023 he finished 11th in the €10,300 EPT High Roller for €53,300, and in 2022 he took 34th in the €1,100 Eureka Main Event for €9,290. Peters has also won a WSOP Circuit Main Event in Rotterdam, a title celebrated by Dutch poker media. These results, combined with numerous smaller cashes, have made him a fixture on the European live circuit.

Peters is known for carefully reading opponents and table dynamics before making his moves. He especially enjoys six-max play, where position and chip pressure can be used to dominate shorter-handed tables. He stresses the importance of staying disciplined under ICM pressure and of making decisions that account for both prize-pool jumps and the tendencies of the players around him.

One of his most visible habits is his tidy chip stacking. Peters says it is his "trademark" and admits that it may annoy opponents, but he believes it helps him remain focused and can, on occasion, be used as a subtle psychological tool. After his 2025 WSOPE win, he described his approach simply: "I just adapt to the table and players, and it works."

Peters' live tournament record continues to grow. As of October 2024, he had 299 recorded cashes for $3,339,279; by September 2025 that total had reached $3,743,179 across 330 cashes; and as of March 2026, he shows 354 cashes and $4,181,678 in live earnings, with a most recent cash of $1,273. The jump reflects not only his bracelets but also a steady stream of results at European festivals. He remains an active and dangerous presence wherever the biggest fields gather, and with two WSOP Europe bracelets already in hand, he continues to pursue further major titles.
