Early Major Cash
In June 2018, Dang finished 3rd in the APL (Asia Poker League) Vietnam Main Event at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City, earning ₫668,790,000 (~US$29,250). This marked his first major live tournament cash and set the stage for a breakout year.
APT Vietnam Main Event Victory
A month later, in July 2018, Dang won the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam Main Event, outlasting a field of 499 entries over three days. He claimed the APT championship trophy, ring, and first prize of ₫1,636,720,000 (~US$70,800, approximately INR 48.96 lakh). The tournament generated a prize pool of VND 9.68 billion (~US$419,900), easily surpassing its VND 6 billion guarantee and setting a record as the largest Main Event prize pool in Vietnam at the time.
