关位翻牌前挤压(CO Preflop Squeeze Rainbow)

CO Preflop Squeeze Rainbow

A preflop squeeze raise from the cutoff CO, usually against a raise and one or more calls, aiming to pick up dead money and force opponents to fold.

Position and Scenario

CO (Cutoff) is one of the last positions to act preflop (only behind the button), offering informational advantages and good steal opportunities. When the CO player observes that a player earlier has raised (the "initial raiser") and at least one player has called, the CO can use the Preflop Squeeze strategy: making a larger re-raise (typically 3-4 times the initial raise or more) to force other players to fold, thereby winning the dead money in the pot (the initial raise and the calls).

Strategic Motive and Risk

The core of the squeeze is applying immense pressure: the initial raiser may fold for fear of being squeezed, and callers usually hold weaker ranges, making them more inclined to fold. This strategy requires tight range selection, typically using strong hands (e.g., high pocket pairs, big broadway cards) or relying on reads on specific opponents. If the squeeze is re-raised or called, the CO may end up in a disadvantageous spot, so attention must be paid to stack depth and opponent tendencies.

Explanation of the "Rainbow" Suffix

"Rainbow" in this term is not a standard poker term (which usually refers to a flop with all different suits). It may indicate that the squeeze range covers multiple suits (i.e., no specific suited requirement) or is a fictional suffix in specific training materials. In practice, this word can be ignored, focusing instead on the CO position and the squeeze operation.
