偷盲(Steal Blinds)
Steal Blinds
Stealing the blinds
Overview
Stealing blinds is a common aggressive strategy in Texas Hold'em, typically executed from later positions (such as the button or cutoff). The goal is to apply pressure through a raise before the flop, forcing the small and big blinds to fold, thus winning the blind chips in the pot without risk.
Execution Conditions
- [Position Advantage]: Players in late position (e.g., button, cutoff) are better suited for blind stealing because they can observe the actions of earlier players.
- Hand Range: The hand range for stealing blinds is wide, including low pairs, [suited connectors], weak aces, etc., not limited to strong hands.
- Opponent Tendencies: Stealing blinds is more successful against blind players who fold frequently or play weakly post-flop.
Notes
- Raise Sizing: Typically raise to 2.5–3 times the big blind, but adjustments are needed on tighter or looser tables.
- [Resteal]: Blind players may 3-bet to resteal, so the stealer must consider the opponent's counter-range.
- Balance: The [stealing range] should be balanced with the value-raising range to avoid being exploited by opponents.
Example
In a $1/$2 No-Limit Hold'em game, action folds to you on the button holding 7♠8♠. You raise to $5 attempting to steal the blinds. If both blinds fold, you win $3 (blinds + antes) directly.
Related Terms
- [Isolation Raise]: A larger raise targeting multiple limpers, similar to blind stealing but with a different purpose.
- 3-bet: A pre-flop re-raise, often used for restealing.
- Defending Blinds: Blind players calling or raising with medium-strength hands to protect their blinds.
