轻再偷范围(Light Resteal Range)

Light Resteal Range

Refers to a strategy in Texas Hold'em where, against a wide open raise, you use a wider than normal range for a re-raise re-steal.

Concept

A light resteal range is an aggressive preflop strategy typically used from the blinds or button position when an opponent (especially the button or CO) has a high open-raise frequency. It involves 3-betting with a relatively wide range of hands, aiming to win the pot immediately or leverage positional advantage.

Usage Scenarios

  • Opponent Tendency: Effective when opponents have a high steal blind tendency (e.g., high steal rate) and a high fold to 3-bet.
  • Table Dynamics: Can be used in both deep and short stack situations, but opponent adjustments must be considered.
  • Typical Range: Usually includes medium suited connectors (e.g., 76s), small pairs (e.g., 66), weak AX (e.g., A2s), etc. These hands are not strong but have good playability or blocker effects.

Notes

  • Risk: A light resteal range is vulnerable to opponent 4-bets or difficult postflop play if called. Choose opponents carefully.
  • Balance: To prevent opponent adjustments, mix a proportion of strong value resteals (e.g., AA, KK) with light resteals.
  • Position: Use a tighter light resteal range when out of position (e.g., small blind) due to postflop difficulty.

Example

Suppose you are in the small blind and the CO player has a steal frequency of 40%. You can 3-bet with hands like A2s, K9s, 87s, 55, etc., rather than only strong hands. If the opponent's fold-to-3-bet exceeds 60%, this strategy will have positive expected value.
