Frequência de open-raise do UTG frequência de probe do UTG

Overview

UTG PFR (commonly written as UTG PFR) is a statistical metric in Texas Hold'em that measures a player's tendency to open-raise from Under the Gun (the first position to the left of the big blind). This value is often used in preflop strategy analysis and opponent modeling.

Calculation Method

UTG PFR = (Number of times the player open-raises from UTG) / (Total hands dealt at UTG) × 100%. Data is typically gathered from hand history records, with a recommended sample size of at least 100 hands.

Strategic Significance

  • High Frequency (>20%): Indicates the player has a wide UTG range, often opening with speculative hands like small pairs, suited connectors, etc. Consider 3-betting or loose calling against such players.
  • Low Frequency (<10%): Suggests the player only plays strong hands (e.g., AA, KK, AK) and is cautious when out of position. Frequent folds are advisable, but be wary of slow-playing.
  • Medium Frequency (10%-20%): Typical of a tight-aggressive (TAG) style. The range usually includes big pairs and high cards. Respect their opens moderately.

Common Misconception

Some players confuse "probe bet" with "open-raise." A probe bet generally refers to a postflop exploratory bet and is unrelated to UTG position. This term specifically refers to preflop actions.

Related Terms

  • Under the Gun (UTG): The most disadvantageous position, requiring the first action preflop.
  • Open Raise: The first raise when no one has raised before.
  • Position: A player's order of action at the table.
