Poker Pro Jared Greiner Hog-Tied, Robbed After WSOP Cash-Out

Poker pro Jared Greiner shared a harrowing account on social media this week of being brutally robbed at his Las Vegas-area Airbnb after a day at the 2026 World Series of Poker.

In a post on X, Greiner described returning to the rental property after busting out of the $1,500 Closer event. As he walked in the front door, two men immediately tackled him to the ground, tied his arms behind his back, and threatened to kill him. They demanded his backpack, which contained his entire cash roll from the summer—the total the men took was not disclosed, but Greiner said it was "literally all my money...I cashed out."

Greiner had cashed for over $78,000 at the 2026 WSOP, including $57,500 for a 218th-place finish in the Main Event. The suspects appeared to have inside knowledge: they already had the lock code to the Airbnb and knew Greiner would be carrying cash. When Greiner entered, he did not have the backpack on him; the men threatened his life until he revealed it was in his car. After he begged them to take whatever they wanted and leave him alive, they hog-tied him with duct tape and fled.

Greiner managed to wriggle free and ran to a neighbor’s house for help. Las Vegas police responded and are investigating, but no arrests have been made. Local news station News3LV obtained video of Greiner’s escape.

The incident raises concerns about security for poker players traveling with large sums of cash, especially those staying in short-term rentals. While post-casino robberies and home invasions are not uncommon, the combination—with suspects knowing the lock code and the victim’s schedule—suggests targeted planning.

Greiner later posted a more detailed recount, noting the door was locked when he arrived, meaning the men likely entered earlier and waited. Despite the trauma, Greiner is physically okay, which he emphasized as the best outcome.
