The EPT Monte Carlo Main Event enters Day 5, with Spanish player Raul Mestre poised to reach the EPT final table again after 15 years. He is currently among the leaders, but competition is fierce.
EPT Monte Carlo Main Event enters Day 5, with Spanish player Raul Mestre heading toward his first EPT final table in 15 years. The experienced player finished runner-up at EPT Deauville in 2009, and despite numerous appearances since, he has never made it back to a final table.
Day 5 action is still ongoing, with Mestre among the chip leaders, but there are still many top players in the field. The EPT Monte Carlo Main Event is one of the flagship events of the European Poker Tour, attracting over 1,000 entrants this year.
In a post-event interview, Mestre said: "I'm very excited, but also focused. 15 years is a long time, but I know I have the ability. Now I need to stay patient and make every decision count."
Day 5 will determine the final six players for the final table, with the champion taking home over €1 million.
