Solana becomes title sponsor of World Series of Poker WSOP

The World Series of Poker® (WSOP) recently announced that blockchain platform Solana will become its new title sponsor. Under the multi-year partnership agreement, Solana’s branding will appear across WSOP events, live broadcasts, and official promotional materials.

This partnership marks another deep integration between the cryptocurrency space and a premier poker tournament. As the world’s oldest and largest poker tournament series, WSOP attracts thousands of players from around the globe each year. Solana, known for its high-performance blockchain network, has previously ventured into sports and entertainment sponsorships multiple times.

Although the exact sponsorship amount has not been disclosed, industry insiders widely estimate the deal to be worth tens of millions of dollars. WSOP stated that Solana’s involvement will bring technological innovation and a broader audience to the event. Solana, in turn, aims to leverage the WSOP platform to further promote its blockchain technology, especially its potential in gaming and decentralized applications (dApps).

Notably, this is not the first time cryptocurrency has intersected with WSOP. Previously, WSOP accepted Bitcoin as an entry fee and launched blockchain-based commemorative NFTs. This title sponsorship marks a deeper phase of collaboration between the two.
