WPT Returns to Palms Las Vegas: Poker Returns After 12 Years, WPT The Victor Cash Game Series Premieres in June

World Poker Tour (WPT) has announced the launch of a new live cash game series, "WPT The Victor," set to take place from June 4 to June 6, 2026, at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. This marks the first poker event at the venue since the Palms closed its poker room in June 2014.

The three-day series airs daily at 4 p.m. PT on WPT's official channel. On June 6, WPT's official X account posted: "Poker rivals @ryandepauloo and @TheTrooper97 explain the origin of their feud." The two had a public confrontation during the live stream.

WPT The Victor is part of WPT's 24th season, which shifts focus to live cash game streaming rather than traditional tournaments. The series will be held at a fixed Las Vegas venue for regular live broadcasts.

Choosing the Palms as the venue is significant: the property, located on the Las Vegas Strip, stopped table games in June 2014 and has since become one of the city's longest-standing venues without poker activities. The three-day WPT The Victor live stream, even if only a brief event, re-establishes the Palms as a poker destination for the first time in 12 years.

Poker industry experts note that from a content perspective, blackjack might be a more logical return, but WPT is reintroducing poker programming through a live cash game series rather than establishing a permanent poker room. Earlier in March 2026, Resorts World Las Vegas closed its poker room, further reducing the city's poker capacity.

According to WPT's official schedule, the Palms is now the host venue for "WPT The Victor at Palms Casino Resort." The series serves both as a content product and as a way to establish a foothold at a venue that has been absent from poker conversations for over a decade.
