WSOP Circuit: New Main Event Champions Crowned at Commerce and Harrah's Cherokee

With the 57th World Series of Poker (WSOP) opening in just one week at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, excitement is building across the global poker community. But before the year's biggest poker festival begins, players across the United States have already earned titles and six-figure paydays through the WSOP Circuit.

In May 2026, Commerce Casino in Commerce, California, and Harrah's Cherokee in North Carolina simultaneously hosted WSOP Circuit series, both concluding yesterday (May 18). Each series' highlight — the $1,700 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Main Event — crowned its champion on the same day.

Hamid Izadi: Third Main Event Title, Tenth Circuit Ring

At Harrah's Cherokee, Hamid Izadi defeated runner-up Louis George to win the Main Event and the $332,405 top prize. This marks his third WSOP Circuit Main Event victory and his tenth WSOP Circuit ring. Izadi previously won Circuit Main Events at Harrah's Pompano Beach in 2024 ($245,225) and Caesars Southern Indiana in 2025 ($111,979).

Anthony Marques: WSOP Gold Bracelet Winner Earns First Circuit Ring

At Commerce Casino, WSOP gold bracelet winner Anthony Marques defeated runner-up Erik Selami to win the Main Event and $187,977, capturing his first WSOP Circuit ring. Marques previously won the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Six-Handed event at the 2017 WSOP for his career-best score.

In the 2025 WSOP Paradise, Marker Darner won the $2,750 buy-in WSOP Circuit Championship No-Limit Hold'em Mystery Bounty, earning his second WSOP gold bracelet and the $350,000 top prize.
