WSOP Historic Collaboration: Buy Tournament Tickets with Solana Crypto, Zero Fees

The World Series of Poker WSOP announced a partnership with the Solana Foundation and MoonPay, allowing players to buy tournament tickets with Solana cryptocurrency for the first time, with zero fees. The 2026 WSOP Paradise will also support stablecoin settlement, speeding up payment processes for international players.
Cryptocurrency Payments Officially Enter WSOP
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Solana Foundation and MoonPay on June 10, 2026, marking the first time cryptocurrency is integrated directly into the global poker experience. Effective immediately, during the 57th summer series (held at Paris Las Vegas and Horseshoe Las Vegas), players can purchase tournament tickets using Solana cryptocurrency through the MoonPay payment infrastructure. This is the first time in WSOP history that players can buy tickets directly with cryptocurrency, and with zero processing fees thanks to Solana technology.

Stablecoin Settlement & Broader Rollout
The integration will expand further at WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas in December 2026 – winners of events will be able to receive settlement in stablecoins on the Solana blockchain, enabling near-instant payouts and reducing friction in traditional international tournament settlements. As part of the partnership, the Solana Foundation will also become the official title sponsor of the 2026 World Series of Poker and the 2026 WSOP Paradise.
Technical Advantages & Player Benefits
Solana, as a high-performance blockchain, is known for industry-leading transaction speeds (processing thousands of transactions per second) and extremely low fees (average fee below $0.001). By completing purchases via MoonPay and settling in stablecoins on the Solana chain, players will gain:
- Faster settlements and simplified payment processes (for eligible events)
- Smoother cross-border participation experience
- Near-instant global settlements, reducing user friction
- Payment flexibility when participating in major global events
Industry Voices
WSOP CEO Ty Stewart said, "We are incredibly proud to include such an innovative and passionate community. The Solana ecosystem, like WSOP, constantly challenges conventions and focuses on user experience. Solana's speed and efficiency resonate with the fast-paced energy of our tournaments, and we are excited to showcase its technology to a global audience."
Solana Foundation Chief Product Officer Vibhu Norby noted, "Solana is a digital economy where people can own and trade millions of assets, make payments, grow their capital, and more. Transactions share the same core characteristics as poker: tough decisions, incomplete information, money management. We are thrilled to develop the sport of poker together with WSOP, merging these two worlds."
MoonPay Commerce President Jim Walker added, "Poker players have always been at the forefront of innovation. They think in probabilities, act fast, and adopt tools that give them an edge. Cryptocurrency is a natural fit. By driving purchases and settlements on Solana via MoonPay, we directly meet that need: faster, borderless payments that allow players from all over the world to easily sit down at the biggest tables."
Ambassadors & Experience Events
The Solana Foundation will sponsor a group of individual poker player ambassadors to represent its ecosystem at WSOP events this summer. Additionally, the Solana ecosystem will host exclusive hospitality events at the Paris and Horseshoe venues in Las Vegas, and provide a top-tier experience during WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas this winter. Solana users can also look forward to future on-chain poker products developed in collaboration with WSOP.
