Alex Foxen

William Alex Foxen was born on February 1, 1991, in Huntington, New York. He played tight end for the Boston College Eagles before turning to poker. Foxen began playing online in his early twenties, winning his first World Series of Poker Circuit event in 2012 at age 21. He transitioned to live poker in 2016, starting with tournaments featuring buy-ins ranging from $200 to $500.

Foxen won the Global Poker Index Player of the Year award in both 2018 and 2019, solidifying his status as one of the top tournament players in the world. He has won four WSOP bracelets, most recently in 2026 when he took down the $10,000 Super Turbo No-Limit Hold'em event for $594,246. In 2025, he finished runner-up in the WSOP $250,000 Super High Roller to Seth Davies for $3 million and earned the PokerGO Tour (PGT) Player of the Year honors after picking up his 12th tour title.

Foxen is known for his dominance on the high roller circuit. His aggressive style and deep-stack prowess have earned him numerous final-table appearances in events such as the Poker Masters and Super High Roller Bowl. In June 2018, he defeated his future wife, Kristen Bicknell, heads-up to win the Mid-Stakes Poker Tour Venetian event.

Foxen married fellow professional poker player Kristen Bicknell in Florida in 2022; she now goes by Kristen Foxen. In 2021, Foxen publicly opposed the WSOP’s decision to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for players, describing the policy as illogical and emotionally driven. His stance sparked debate within the poker community.

Foxen is known for his aggressive and fearless approach, often applying pressure with large bets and raises. He is particularly adept at reading opponents and adjusting his strategy in deep-stacked situations. His style has earned him the nickname "Poker Villain" within the community.
