Dan Colman

Dan Colman (full name Daniel Alan Colman, born July 11, 1990) is an American high-stakes professional poker player from Holden, Massachusetts. He is widely recognized for his explosive breakout in 2014, which included winning the prestigious Big One for One Drop and earning multiple Player of the Year honors.

Colman began playing online poker under the names "mrGR33N13" and "riyyc225". He achieved a milestone in 2013 by becoming the first player to win $1,000,000 in hyper-turbo tournaments in a calendar year, accomplishing this in just nine months. His first live tournament cash came in 2008, but his results remained modest until 2014.

Before 2014, Colman had total live tournament earnings of $504,699. That year, he transformed into a global superstar. In April, he won the €100,000 Super High Roller at the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo, earning €1,539,300 ($2,127,398). This was the first of four seven-figure cashes in 2014.

At the 2014 World Series of Poker, Colman finished third in the $10,000 Heads-Up Championship for $111,942. Then, on June 29, he won the $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop, defeating Daniel Negreanu heads-up to claim the $15,306,668 first prize – the fourth-largest single payout in poker tournament history at the time.

Colman continued his hot streak: third in an Aria $100,000 Super High Roller ($796,821), runner-up in the EPT Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller ($1,118,479), and winner of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $5,300 Main Event for $1,446,710. He capped the year by winning the WPT Alpha8 London for $957,396. His total live tournament winnings for 2014 reached an incredible $22,389,481.

Colman has one WSOP bracelet, won in the 2014 Big One for One Drop. He has nine WSOP money finishes, including a 31st-place finish in the 2016 Main Event ($216,211) and a third place in the 2015 $111,111 High Roller for One Drop ($1,544,121).

Colman is known for his extremely aggressive and mathematically precise style, excelling in high-pressure situations. His online success in hyper-turbo sit-and-goes translated to live high-roller events. Despite his achievements, Colman has maintained a low public profile and stepped away from live tournaments after 2017. As of October 2022, his lifetime live earnings exceed $28.9 million according to The Hendon Mob.
