In February 2023, Dennis Schiller emerged victorious in the German Poker Days (GPD) Main Event at King's Resort in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. The tournament attracted 2,464 entries, easily surpassing the €300,000 guarantee to build a prize pool of €407,999. Schiller defeated Kacper Kuzior of Poland in heads-up play to claim the top prize of €63,200 cash plus a €10,350 ticket to the WSOPE Main Event, for a total package worth nearly €74,000.

Dennis Schiller, then 42 years old, works as a dispatcher for a courier express company. He lives in Schöneiche, Germany, and is a devoted Hertha BSC fan, having attended matches since 1995. Schiller wore a retro Hertha jacket during the final table, crediting it for bringing him luck.

Schiller began playing poker intensively around 2003–2004 but scaled back after starting a family. He now primarily plays in private home games with friends, with an annual trip to a professional tournament – the 2023 GPD being that year’s event. His calm, composed demeanor at the table, described as possessing a "cold poker face," helped him outlast the field over four days of play.
