James Mendoza is a Philippines-born professional poker player based in Glendale, California, with more than $1.7 million in recorded live tournament earnings. He won the Triton WPT Global Slam in 2025 for $1,515,000 and has multiple WSOP final tables, including two third-place finishes worth over $300,000 each. Although he has not yet captured a WSOP bracelet, he ranks 7th on the Philippines all-time money list and continues to post results across live and online events.

James Mendoza is a poker professional from the Philippines who currently resides in Glendale, California. His recorded live tournament results total $1,745,768, with a best live cash of $303,884. He has been a consistent presence on the World Series of Poker and Asian tours since 2018.

Mendoza's first tracked WSOP Circuit cash came on December 1, 2018, at Harrah's Cherokee in the $250 Seniors Event #2, where he finished 360th for $300. His next notable result was a fourth-place finish in the $400 Knockout event at the WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley on January 11, 2020, earning $3,448. In June 2022 he played the $5,000 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em / Pot-Limit Omaha event at the WSOP and finished 73rd for $10,013.

Triton, WPT and APT Success

Mendoza's largest recorded tournament win came on September 9, 2025, at the Triton WPT Global Slam (Event #1), a $25,000 + $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event held at the Les A Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World Resort. He defeated a field of 199 entries to take first place and $1,515,000.

On March 17, 2026, he returned to the same venue for the $25,000 + $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Jupiter Event (Event #2) and finished 23rd out of 262 entries for $63,000.

Mendoza has also cashed on the World Poker Tour. At the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas on December 14, 2024, he finished 64th out of 2,392 entries for $50,000. At the WPT Championship at NagaWorld Integrated Resort on February 19, 2025, he placed 93rd out of 750 for $6,400.

In the Asia Pacific Poker Tour, he cashed in the APT Main Event at City of Dreams on November 6, 2024, finishing 31st of 639 for ₱594,000. On May 2, 2025, at APT Red Space, he finished 211th of 1,276 in the NT$55,000 APT Main Event, earning NT$113,500.

His online results include a ninth-place finish in the 2025 WSOP Online Event #12 no-limit hold'em Monsterstack, where he earned $10,747 from a field of 1,777, and a 15th-place finish in WSOP Online Event #18 for $12,903.
