Jared Todd Jaffee

Jared Todd Jaffee was born on February 21, 1981, in Staten Island, New York. He attended Emory University and later Brooklyn Law School, where he earned a law degree and passed the bar exam. After briefly working at a law firm, he decided to pursue poker full-time. During law school, he played in private New York City clubs and honed his skills. Notably, he started his poker journey by winning an online satellite to a cruise ship tournament while working as a pizza delivery driver—a job he kept because it gave him the flexibility to play poker. He eventually moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he resides today.

Jaffee's first major title came in November 2013, when he won the World Poker Tour $3,500 Jacksonville Main Event for $252,749. The following year, he captured his first and only WSOP bracelet in June 2014, winning the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Mixed Max event for $405,428—his largest live cash to date. In addition, he has earned three WSOP Circuit rings, though specific details of those victories are not widely publicized.

In 2023, Jaffee added a second WPT title to his resume, taking down the WPT Choctaw Main Event for $400,740. This win placed him in an elite group of players with multiple WPT championships. His consistent success across both the WSOP and WPT has solidified his reputation as a top-tier tournament grinder. As of 2025, his Global Poker Index rank was 303.

Jaffee has numerous deep runs in high-profile events. Outside his titles, his largest cash came from a $25,000 High Roller at Aria in July 2018, where he finished first for $299,000. Later that year, he placed second in a $25,000 Poker Masters event for $262,500. In January 2014, he finished fourth in the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open for $258,590. He has also made multiple WSOP Main Event appearances, cashing in 2022 (583rd, $25,500) and 2024 (787th, $25,000).

In addition to his titles, Jaffee has consistently cashed in mid-stakes events. He finished 5th in the 2022 MSPT Venetian $1,600 Main Event for $55,052, 22nd in the 2022 WSOP $10,000 6-Handed Championship for $32,025, 29th in the 2023 WSOP $2,500 Freezeout for $11,965, and 19th in the 2023 RGPS Checkpoint Thunder Valley Main Event for $9,460.

In mixed-game events, Jaffee has shown versatility with cashes in H.O.R.S.E., Pot-Limit Omaha, and nine-game mix. For example, at the 2024 WSOP, he finished 62nd in the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event for $3,682 and 115th in the $3,000 PLO 6-handed for $6,021.

Jaffee has continued to post strong results in recent years. In 2024, he finished 4th in the RGPS Destination RunGood Thunder Valley $2,500 Main Event for $68,830 and 12th in the PokerStars NAPT Las Vegas $5,300 Main Event for $47,450. He also cashed in multiple WSOP events, including the $1,500 Millionaire Maker (295th, $7,200) and the $10,000 Main Event (787th, $25,000).

In 2025, Jaffee cashed in the WSOP COLOSSUS ($500 buy-in) for $4,520 (122nd) and the $3,000 6-Handed NLH for $3,600 (212th). At the 2025 PokerStars NAPT, he placed 48th in the $1,100 PS Open Main Event for $3,050.

The 2026 season has started strong as well. He finished 6th in a $5,000 PGT Kickoff event for $39,750 and made a deep run in the WPT Las Vegas Spring Festival for $20,700. At the 2026 WSOP, he placed 34th in the $1,500 Freezeout NLH for $14,250, 343rd in the $3,000 Mid-Stakes Championship for $6,301, and 343rd in the $1,000 Mystery Bounty PLO for $1,600.

Jaffee is known for a gritty, old-school style that combines modern technical knowledge with aggressive table talk. He is one of the most talkative players on the circuit, often using humor and sharp commentary to gain information and unsettle opponents. Unlike many of the younger GTO-focused pros, Jaffee relies heavily on live reads and is willing to embrace high variance.
