Jonathan Nissen

Jonathan Nissen’s early tournament results include a 16th-place finish in the 2011 ACF Summer Series Main Event (€1,760) and a 125th-place finish in the 2012 Grande Finale Winamax Poker Tour (€900). These results established him as a consistent contender in European live events.

Nissen’s most prominent result came in November 2014 at the Svenska Pokerförbundets (Swedish Poker Federation) live championship held in Helsingør, Denmark. He navigated a field of top Scandinavian players to reach the nine-handed final table as the third chip leader (727,000 chips). During the final table, Nissen eliminated Oscar Denzler in eighth place (37,867 DKK) with pocket jacks against Denzler’s K♣Q♣. He also doubled up against Albert Rolander in a key hand. Eventually, a three-way deal was struck: David Grabinski secured 215,793 DKK, Albert Rolander 200,823 DKK, and Jonathan Nissen 184,382 DKK, with 10,000 DKK left for the winner. Nissen then won the final hand after both players agreed to go all-in blind, officially winning the tournament but honoring the deal.

In May 2017, Nissen cashed in the Unibet Open main event, finishing 18th for 31,400 DKK. He was eliminated when his A♠Q♠ ran into A♣A♢, and later his fours lost to fives. This result added to his tournament resume.

While detailed playing style descriptions are scarce, Nissen demonstrated aggression and adaptability in the 2014 SM final table, making four-bets and shoving effectively. His results show proficiency in both deep-stacked and short-stacked play. Nissen remains a respected figure in the Danish poker community, with his third-place SM finish standing as his career highlight.
