Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin grew up in a small town in northern Alberta, Canada, where he dreamed of finding an industry to pursue his passions. After playing his first poker hand in 2014, he knew the poker world was his calling. He quit his job as a radio DJ and fully immersed himself in poker strategy books. In the early days, Martin ground it out in small cash games in Canadian casinos before successfully building a bankroll and transitioning to online tournaments.

From his very first online MTT, Martin turned on his cameras and live-streamed his journey to the world, becoming one of the earliest adopters of the Twitch platform for poker. He has been streaming since 2015 and his community values his authenticity, as he shares both $100k+ upswings and $100k downswings. He has transformed from a losing micro-stakes player to playing some of the highest-stakes games online. Martin is also active on YouTube and runs his own website, KMart Poker, where he sells merchandise. In May 2016, he signed as a member of Team PokerStars Pro Online, racking up over $200K in live cashes. After leaving PokerStars in 2019, he briefly joined online poker before resigning just four months later. In October 2020, he joined online poker as a member of the GGSquad, and he is currently a Content Ambassador for online poker. He also appeared on the first season of online poker's Game of Gold, a poker reality competition on YouTube, where his team was eliminated in the first week.

Martin's passion for reality TV led him to compete in Big Brother Canada twice. He finished 9th in his first appearance and won the competition in his second season. While on the show, he met his wife, and they married in the autumn of 2021. Outside of poker, Martin enjoys multiplayer games, particularly Mario Party.

As of 2024, Martin's live tournament earnings total $482,204 with his largest live cash being $72,200 for a 25th-place finish in the 2023 WSOP Paradise $5,000 Main Event Championship. He also cashed for $9,210 in the 2024 WSOP $1,500 Monster Stack (157th place). In 2023, he placed 119th in the $400 Colossus for $3,610 and 426th in the $1,500 Monster Stack for $4,725. Earlier in his career, his biggest live cash was $48,210 as runner-up in the Run It Up Reno VII Main Event. Martin has also found success online, notably a 7th-place finish in the 2026 online poker $1,500 Sunday High Rollers Main Event for $62,289, and multiple cashes in WSOP Online bracelet events on online poker, including 34th in a $5,000 6-Handed event for $13,058 in 2021.
