Montreal Nick

Montreal Nick, whose real name is Jonathan Duhamel, was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He attended the Université du Québec in Montreal to study business administration and finance but left before graduating to focus on poker.

In 2010, Duhamel won the WSOP Main Event, defeating John Racener heads-up to claim $8,944,310 and become the first Canadian to win the Main Event bracelet. He donated $100,000 to the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation after his victory.

In January 2011, he won the High Roller event at EPT Deauville for €200,000 ($272,209). Later that year, he cashed twice at the 2011 WSOP for over $40,000.

Duhamel was a member of Team PokerStars Pro from January 2011 to April 2015. In January 2012 at the PCA, he made four final tables, finishing fourth in the Super High Roller for $313,600 and fifth in the turbo event.

In June 2015, he defeated Bill Klein heads-up to win the $111,111 WSOP High Roller for One Drop, earning $3,989,985 and his second WSOP bracelet. In October 2015, he won his third WSOP bracelet in the €25,600 High Roller at WSOP Europe for €628,815.

Duhamel is known for a balanced and aggressive style, particularly in high-pressure tournament situations. His heads-up play was instrumental in his Main Event win and other deep runs.

As the first Canadian WSOP Main Event champion, Duhamel inspired a generation of Canadian players. His high roller success and philanthropy have solidified his place in poker history. With total live earnings exceeding $41 million, he remains one of the most accomplished tournament players.
