Early Life and Background
Nenad Medić was born on 21 December 1982 in Apatin, a town in the Serbian part of the former Yugoslavia. He later emigrated to Canada and now resides in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Medić attended the University of Waterloo, where he played basketball for the university team. It was during his college years that he learned to play poker with his teammates, quickly developing a passion for the game.
Online Poker
Medić began his poker career online, playing under the alias "Serb2127". After leaving college, he turned to online poker professionally, quickly gaining recognition in high-stakes games. His aggressive style made him a formidable opponent on digital felt, competing against the best players of the era.
World Poker Tour Success
Medić made his first World Poker Tour (WPT) final table at the PokerStars.com Caribbean Poker Adventure in 2005. In January 2006, he traveled to Australia for the Aussie Millions, where he finished third and earned $282,432. Later that year, in November, he captured his first WPT title at the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods Resort Casino, defeating a strong field to win $1,717,194. He returned to the same event in 2007, again reaching the final table and finishing third for $486,367.

The 2008 World Series of Poker was a breakthrough for Medić. He entered the $10,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em World Championship, a prestigious event that attracted a world-class field. Medić navigated through numerous opponents to reach the final table, which included notable professionals such as Phil Laak, Patrik Antonius, Mike Sexton, and Kathy Liebert. After eliminating each rival one by one, he found himself heads-up against Andy Bloch. In a hard-fought duel, Medić emerged victorious, earning his first WSOP bracelet and a prize of $794,112.
