Early Life and Education

Nicolas Langlois d'Estaintot was born in France. He studied Applied Mathematics at Université Panthéon Sorbonne (2009–2010) and later earned a Master in Management from IESEG School of Management (2010–2015), which was ranked 24th worldwide by the Financial Times. He also participated in a PGP program at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode in 2013.

Career Beginnings

Before fully committing to poker, Langlois d'Estaintot gained professional experience in finance and non-profit sectors. He worked as an Investment Research Analyst Trainee at Bfinance in Quimper in 2013, and held roles in public and media relations at Handilink (promoting professional integration of persons with disabilities) and Au Sein de la Mode (supporting breast cancer research).

Poker Career

Langlois d'Estaintot started playing poker in his youth after discovering the game on Prizee.com. He played semi-professionally from 2008 to 2013, focusing on mid-stakes to high-stakes cash games both live and online. He also provided coaching to low-stakes players and wrote a weekly column on game theory for ClubPoker Radio, France's most listened poker radio show (30,000–80,000 weekly plays).

Despite his involvement, he never pursued poker full-time: "I always had my studies alongside, which allowed me to keep a certain balance," he explained. He recalled swings of €10,000 to €15,000, noting that only fellow poker players can understand such volatility.

In live tournaments, his total earnings amount to $73,909, with a best cash of $24,164. His Hendon Mob ranking is 53,114th on the All Time Money List.

Entrepreneurship: Perus Brand

In 2013, Langlois d'Estaintot co-founded Perus, a clothing brand that also supports education for underprivileged youth. He shifted his focus from poker to entrepreneurship, describing the game as a hobby rather than a career. He appeared on the RMC Poker Show to discuss this transition, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a social life over grinding.

Media Appearances

Langlois d'Estaintot has been a guest on Club Poker Radio multiple times, notably in a December 2023 episode alongside Alain Leyravoux and Pierre Calamusa, where he reflected on his poker journey and the rise of Perus.

Playing Style and Philosophy

Known online as "Nlegend," he played up to NL1000 (no-limit hold'em $5/$10). He described his approach as grounded in game theory, risk management, and analysis of dynamics. He believes that poker is fascinating but can be all-consuming, and advises maintaining a balanced life.

Personal Life

Langlois d'Estaintot resides in France. Outside poker and business, he has been involved in charitable initiatives through his non-profit work and Perus.
