Regina Cassab

Regina Cassab began playing poker in 2008, gradually transitioning from recreational play to a professional career. She is from São Paulo, Brazil, and quickly established herself as a regular on the national tournament circuit.

Cassab has collected several notable titles. In 2022, she won the 8-Game Mixed event at Winter Millions and the Evento #11 (R$1,200 8-Game Mix) at BSOP Rio de Janeiro. She also claimed the top spot in the CPH Ladies ranking for the 2020/2021 season. One of her most significant victories came at the WSOP Brazil Ladies event, where she defeated a tough field of 55 entries, including defending champion Samara Alexandre in a lengthy heads-up battle, earning R$15,000 and a WSOP ring. Additionally, she won two packages to Punta del Este worth US$8,000 each through $1.10 satellites.

Cassab co-founded the Liga Brasileira Feminina de Poker in 2018 with Luana Matos to encourage women's participation in poker. The league now boasts nearly 400 members and organizes classes, special promotions, and satellite events to major tournaments. She is also the Head of LATAM for the WPF Women’s Committee, where she works to foster opportunities for women across Latin America. Cassab has spoken about overcoming initial prejudice in the male-dominated scene, but notes that today most male players respect their female counterparts.

Cassab describes poker as her life and passion, stating: "Hoje, o poker é tudo para mim. É a minha vida. Eu respiro o poker." She remains dedicated to her game and her mission to empower women in the sport.
