Ren Lin began his live poker career in 2015, grinding low-stakes events in Las Vegas to build his bankroll. Over the next five years, he steadily improved, flying under the radar as he refined his tournament strategy.

Lin's breakthrough came at the 2021 World Series of Poker (WSOP), where he cashed 14 times, including a third-place finish in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $186,803 and a runner-up finish in the $50,000 High Roller for $903,610. He also took down a $10,000 PokerGO Tour Aria High Roller for $147,600 that summer.

In January 2026, Lin was announced as a WPT online ambassador.
