Sylvain Ribes was born on October 21, 1986, in Paris, France. He originally trained as an image processing engineer but discovered poker during his engineering studies in 2007. He began playing online poker in October 2008 at $25 tables, adopting the screen name "ArtPlay" from the world of online gaming. Within three months, he became a full-time online poker player, moving up to $200 tables and amassing a bankroll of €150,000.
Online Poker Career
In November 2010, Ribes joined the online pro team of PokerStars.FR, then the largest poker site in France, where he remained a regular player in No Limit Texas Hold'em and later Pot Limit Omaha.
