Thai Ha was born in Hanoi, Vietnam, and now resides in Factoryville, Pennsylvania. His live tournament career began to gain traction in the mid-2010s, with a notable $230,422 cash at the 2016 WPTDeepStacks Lucky Hearts Poker Open. The following year, he won the Borgata Summer Poker Open $400 NLH Deepstack for $41,557. In 2018, Ha secured a coveted Platinum Pass to the PokerStars Players Championship, signaling his rising status in the poker world.

Ha's largest career cash came in 2019 at the WSOP Europe, where he finished second in the €25,500 Short Deck High Roller for $511,788. He also placed second in the $10,000 Short Deck event at the 2019 WSOP for $183,081.
