Theo Jørgensen

Theo Jørgensen was born on 3 May 1972 in Roskilde, Denmark, and is based in Copenhagen. He began playing poker in the early 1990s. Jørgensen gained early success in European cash games before transitioning to tournaments. He has been sponsored by BET24 and later by PokerStars.

World Series of Poker (WSOP)

Jørgensen won his first WSOP bracelet at the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) in the £5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event, taking home £218,626. He has four WSOP final tables and six cashes overall, including a 30th-place finish in the 2010 WSOP Main Event for $255,242. His total WSOP earnings exceed $900,000.

World Poker Tour (WPT)

In May 2010, Jørgensen won his first WPT title at the Season 9 Grand Prix de Paris, collecting €633,902. He also finished runner-up in the WPT Grand Prix de Paris in September 2012, earning €264,600 ($333,128).

European Poker Tour (EPT)

Jørgensen made his first EPT final table in 2006, finishing 4th in Deauville. In March 2013, he placed 4th in the EPT London Main Event for £183,000.

Other Achievements

In 2004, Jørgensen won the European Seven-Card Stud Championship in Baden, earning €101,688. He represented Denmark in the Poker Nations Cup and the online poker.com Football & Poker Legends Cup, where the Danish team won and Jørgensen took the individual prize.

On 3 December 2012, Jørgensen was robbed by three men in his home. He was shot three times during the robbery but survived. The incident garnered widespread attention in the poker community.

Jørgensen is known for his extremely aggressive, deep-stacked play, particularly in Pot-Limit Omaha. He often applies constant pressure with large bets and is difficult to read, combining aggression with disciplined decisions.

As of 2023, Jørgensen's total live tournament winnings exceed $4,200,000. He remains a respected figure in poker, especially in the European high-stakes scene.
